I learned some interesting things about the KJV recently. It's largely based on a previous translation, and it wasn't very popular when it was first published. It became widely used only when the successor to King James outlawed all other versions.
Yeah, that's cool. It has become a fundamentalist thing for some, when at the time, it was a radical response!
